My academic background in nursing and my current Bachelor of Education (TESL) studies have helped me develop strong communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills. Through nursing, I learned about human development, psychology, therapeutic communication, and how to interact patiently and effectively with individuals from different age groups and backgrounds. At the same time, my education degree is enhancing my teaching methods, classroom management skills, and understanding of how students learn in different ways. I am learning how to create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment that encourages students to participate actively and build confidence in themselves.
Teaching Method(s)
I believe every student has a unique learning style. For Lower Primary students, I use play-based learning methods such as flashcards, songs, games, and storytelling to keep them engaged and focused, especially for English subjects. I balance firmness for discipline with praise and a reward system to maintain motivation. For Upper Primary students, I strengthen core concepts based on DSKP, conduct drills using UASA/PBD formats, and emphasise proper English answering techniques. I also monitor students' attention span and include short brain breaks when needed. All student progress and TP levels will be updated regularly in MyTrack for parents' reference.
